Raj Sisodia joins Axialent's Academic Board

The author of Firms of Endearment and co-founder and Chairman of Conscious Capitalism Institute becomes new Academic Board member at Axialent.

One of the thought leaders of the Conscious Capitalism movement, Dr. Raj Sisodia has joined Axialent’s Academic Board. His book, Firms of Endearment: How World-Class Companies Profit from Passion and Purpose, shows how companies guided by the question "How are we going to make this company an instrument of service to society even as we fulfill our obligation to build shareholder wealth?" significantly outperform the markets while creating multiple kinds of wealth for all stakeholders.

Companies like Amazon, Google, Whole Foods, UPS and Southwest are Firms of Endearment (FoE). They are generating emotional, social and financial wealth for all their stakeholders – customers, employees, suppliers, environmentalists, community, governments and shareholders. They pay their employees very well, provide great value to customers and have thriving, profitable suppliers. And the data is staggering: FoEs have had a return of 1646% over the past 15 years, compared to only 157% for the S&P 500 and 177% for the companies profiled in Jim Collins’ bestselling book Good to Great.

“This shows our commitment to find new ways of supporting our clients, aligned to our innovation plan in our offering for the next years. At the core of Axialent lies Conscious Business, a powerful philosophy and practice to propel companies on a path of sustainable value creation. Partnering with thought leaders like Raj brings to our clients a new way of looking at their business model that they can leverage and benefit from,” says Francisco Cherny, CEO.

“I am excited. Axialent has the know-how on how to help companies build conscious leaders, conscious cultures and a higher purpose, three of the tenets of a Conscious enterprise,” says Raj. “It’s a solid roadmap for those who want to become a Firm of Endearment”.

“The strong alignment in our work makes this a fertile ground to create new methodologies together. The extensive research in Firms of Endearment is a powerful incentive for companies to embark on the journey of becoming Conscious Businesses,” says Fred Kofman, head of our Academic Board.

Axialent’s consulting services in culture transformation and leadership development will integrate the framework behind Raj’s findings. This will become a powerful intervention strategy for companies looking for the ultimate source of long-term competitive advantage.
